IFT Backup Automation

What this integration does

IFT Backup Automation uses Google Drive to store encrypted Git repository backup archives. A backup is created using GitHub Actions, encrypted before upload, and transferred by the rclone tool. The encryption's private decryption key is not provided to Google Drive or the automated GitHub backup job.

The integration requests the Google Drive drive.file permission: access to files the application creates or that a user specifically opens with it. It is not intended to scan or read unrelated Google Drive documents.

Privacy policy

Purpose and data: The integration processes Google authorization credentials and the encrypted backup files it uploads, lists, downloads, or verifies. Backup archive contents are encrypted before being sent to Drive.

Access and storage: The integration uses Google OAuth and the Google Drive API with the limited drive.file scope. Google hosts uploaded backup files under the account that grants access. Credentials are held in a restricted configuration and in a protected GitHub Actions secret for automated runs; they are not published on this website.

Use and sharing: Google user data is used only to perform and verify the requested backup operations. The operator does not sell Google user data or use it for advertising, analytics profiling, or model training. Data is not shared with unrelated third parties; GitHub Actions, rclone, and Google Drive are used as operational service providers.

Retention and deletion: Encrypted backups are retained until the operator removes them; there is no automatic deletion policy at this time. The Google account owner can revoke the application's access in their Google Account settings and delete the stored files from Google Drive. Revoking access stops future operations, but does not itself remove files already stored.

Security: Repository contents are encrypted before upload. Access credentials and the private decryption key are handled separately. No system can promise absolute security.

Scope: This policy covers only the IFT Backup Automation utility, not the public-facing I Feel This service.

Terms of use

This integration is a private, operator-controlled utility, not a service offered for public registration or third-party use. Authorized operators use it to create and recover encrypted project backups. It is provided without guarantees of continuous availability or fitness for a particular purpose. Backup restoration should be periodically tested.
